EDITING
Transitions
Our trailer consisted of slow fades during the beginning of the trailer and moves on to cuts that speed up during the disequilibrium and then slows down nearing the end of the trailer. The conjuring 2 trailer gave us inspiration and was a good template to follow for the trailers timeline. The fades and quick cuts are conventions used to build suspense and tension that builds up throughout the trailer.
FADES:
The common convention know as fades have been used throughout movie trailers. In our trailer the intro fades from the production company to the distribution company. In addition to that, many fades were used throughout the teaser trailer in order to build tension and suspense.

Camera Shots
Our trailer consisted of many different camera shots which has the purpose of portray the protagonist as well as the antagonist.
Over The Shoulder:
The over the shoulder shot is a convention used in many trailers to either present a conversation that is happening or to give a sense of the characters perspective. For our trailer we have filmed an over the shoulder shot of the Antagonist looking down on the protagonist to catch her facial and body expression, However the Conjuring 2 trailer is about to look up towards the antagonist.

Lighting
Low key lighting has been implemented in our trailer since it is a common convention. Additionally it was used nearing the end of the teaser trailer and to add an isolated and creepy ambience. We manipulated lighting in order to create shadows, and so that the audience focus is on the emotional terror of the antagonist.

Length
A convention of teaser trailers is that they are just over a minute but not more than 2 minutes. Our trailer is 1:02 minutes. We also followed the conventions in terms of placing our production and distribution companies at the beginning and a jump scare at the end.

These are all common conventions from real media text, however we also did challenge some conventions by adding the cast members names. Additionally adding a convention such as social media to a poster has only been recently noticed as a more modern convention.
